Prime Contractor
For Prime Contractors, a Mechanics lien is required to be filed by the 15th day of the 4th month after the day that payment for work becomes delinquent. For residential projects, it must be filed during the 3rd month after the payment for work becomes delinquent. Enforcement of the lien must take place within 2 years after the last day labor or materials were provided on the job, or 1 year from the completion of the project. When dealing with residential projects, this time limit is shortened to 1 year after the last day labor or materials were provided for a project, or whenever the project is completed; whichever occurs later.
Subs/ Laborers
