Prime Contractor

For Prime Contractors, preliminary notices must be provided listing all subcontractors and suppliers within 10 days of the owners request.

                                      Sub/Laborer

For subcontractors and laborers, a Notice to Owner is required within : 1) 45 days after first furnishing materials or providing labor; 2) 45 days when customized materials are created for the project, not readily usable for any other project; or 3) Before the owner makes final payment to the prime contractor on the project. 

                                    Supplier/Other

If suppliers and others have a direct contract with the owner, then the same notice requirements for a prime contractor are followed. If suppliers and others have a contract with the Prime Contractor, the notice requirements are the same as for a subcontractor.
