Prime Contractor

For Prime Contractors, a Mechanics Lien is required to be filed within 90 days of the last day labor or materials were provided for a construction project. For residential projects however, after determination by the court, a Mechanics Lien must be filed within 120 days of last providing labor or materials on a project. Enforcement of the lien must take place within 1 year from the last day labor or materials were provided on the project.

Sub/Laborer

For Subcontractors and Laborers, a Mechanics Lien is required to be filed within 90 days of the last day labor or materials were provided on a construction project. Enforcement of the lien must take place within 1 year from the last day labor or materials were provided on the project.

Supplier/Other

For Suppliers and Others, a Mechanics Lien is required to be filed within 90 days of the last day labor or materials were provided on a construction project. Enforcement of the lien must take place within 1 year from the last day labor or materials were provided on the project.
