Prime Contractor

For Prime Contractors, a Mechanics Lien must be filed within 6 months of last day labor or materials were provided on a construction project, and enforcement of the lien must take place within 6 months from the liens’ filing date.

Sub/Laborer

For Subcontractors and Laborers, a Mechanics Lien must be filed within 6 months of last day labor or materials were provided on a construction project. Enforcement of the lien must take place within 6 months of the liens’ filing date.

Supplier/Other

For Suppliers and Others, a Mechanics Lien must be filed within 6 months of last day materials or work were provided on a construction project. Enforcement of the lien must take place within 6 months of the liens’ filing date. For equipment lessors however, they must file a lien within 60 days of when the equipment was last on the construction project.
