Prime Contractor

For Prime Contractors, when contracting for a project for $25,000 or greater, a Notice of Commencement must be filed.

Supplier/Other

For Material Suppliers and Others, a Notice of Non-Payment must be provided to the owner of the property 10 days before filing a Mechanic’s Lien if they’re hired by a prime contractor. If they are contracted by a subcontractor, then the notice may be sent within 75 days from the last day materials or labor were provided for the project.
